What AI can actually do for a beginner trader

• Explain what is on the chart in plain language — trend, levels, patterns, what would invalidate the idea.
• Turn a rule you can say into a rule a machine can watch: “alert me when price closes above yesterday’s high with rising volume”.
• Keep a journal and tell you, honestly, what you keep doing wrong.
• Write the indicator or script you would otherwise pay someone for.

What AI cannot do

• Predict the market. It can reason about probabilities; it cannot see the future.
• Replace risk management. Size, stops and loss limits are yours to set — the agent enforces them.
• Be trusted blindly. Models hallucinate; the course teaches you to verify.

Your first week of AI trading

• Day 1–2: Set up ChatGPT or Claude; learn to send a chart screenshot and ask structured questions.
• Day 3–4: Install the AI trading extension on TradingView or your broker’s web platform; get live data into the AI.
• Day 5: Build your first plain-English alert.
• Day 6–7: Paper-trade one setup with the AI as reviewer; journal it.

TradingView (the free tier is enough to start), MetaTrader 5 web, Interactive Brokers, Binance. Every one of them works with the extension.
