Set Up a Trading VM for AI Agents: Course Track

What you will build

• A Windows or Linux VM (cloud VPS, our Chicago hosting, or a home mini-PC) hardened for trading.
• Chrome with the AI extension and your platform session, kept alive and auto-recovering.
• An MCP server exposing quotes, positions and orders to Claude or ChatGPT with limits.
• A scheduler that runs analysis at the times and sessions you choose.
• Monitoring: uptime checks, log shipping, Telegram alerts when anything stops.
• Security: separate accounts, read-only vs. trade-only keys, no withdrawal rights, secrets storage.
• Cost control: model token budgets, screenshot vs. DOM vs. streaming data trade-offs.

• 1 — Choosing where the agent lives: laptop vs. VPS vs. colocation; latency that matters and latency that does not.
• 2 — OS setup and hardening for a trading box.
• 3 — Browser, extension and platform sessions that survive reboots.
• 4 — MCP server install and permissions.
• 5 — Model access: cloud APIs vs. local models on a GPU box.
• 6 — Watchdogs, restarts and kill switches.
• 7 — Monitoring and alerting.
• 8 — Backups, disaster recovery and the “what if the agent goes rogue” drill.
